Meet our client, Robert

Shortly before the pandemic hit, Robert suffered a hip and leg injury which prevented him from continuing at his fire alarm testing and repair job. Given the COVID-affected economy and his limited computer skills, he has not been able to find suitable employment.

“I tried to scrape by with what I had for as long as I could,” Robert said. “I always feel like there are others worse off than me, so I was hesitant to reach out for help. But by November I had absolutely no money to pay my rent.”

Weymouth’s Town Hall referred Robert to our HomeSafe program. Our HomeSafe Manager worked with Robert’s landlord and quickly got him the financial assistance he needed to pay his next month’s rent and guided him towards additional housing assistance and employment resources.

“I was surprised that I could get this help,” said Robert. “It was the net I needed to keep me out of the cold.”
