South Shore Walk and 5K Run
Nearly everyone in our community knows someone who has been affected by mental illness or addiction. How can we bring awareness to these issues? Each spring walkers and runners fill the streets of Quincy to show our community that mental illness is not a cause for shame; it is a reason for us to unite in support of our loved ones.
Over the past forty years The South Shore Walk and 5K Run have become an annual tradition for hundreds of families and individuals from all over the Greater Boston area. The funds raised through this event allow Interfaith Social Services to assist thousands of local families every year. Even if you can’t walk or run everyone is invited to gather pledges and attend the family fun event that occurs immediately following the Walk. Festivities include: lunch, ice cream, kids’ crafts, music, air brush tattoos, face painting, balloon animals, a bouncy house, raffles and more! Start gathering pledges now to help our neighbors in need.
The 2017 Walk will be held on Saturday April 29, 2017.
